Beginning contact visits can feel like stepping into something unknown. Parents often tell us they want to understand what’s ahead, and most of all, they want reassurance that their child will feel safe. That’s why we’ve created a range of resources designed to bring comfort and clarity to families starting this journey.

Our #alwayschildfocused podcast has episodes dedicated to answering the questions parents ask most. What is contact? What happens in an intake assessment? What does a child familiarisation session look like? Listening in your own time makes these steps less mysterious and helps parents feel more confident about what lies ahead.

Beyond the podcast, our Always Child Focused blog gathers stories, articles, and reflections that support parents through separation and contact. Our book club shares titles chosen with care to help families understand children’s needs. And our special kids site offers age-appropriate ways to explain contact visits, giving children their own place to learn and feel reassured.

These resources work together to take away some of the uncertainty and create a sense of calm. Parents often tell us that having a podcast to listen to on the drive, or a book to dip into at night, helps them feel less alone. Children, too, find comfort when the steps are explained in ways that feel safe and familiar.

One father told us that after listening to our episode on intake assessments, he felt his anxiety ease. By the time he came in for his appointment, he said he understood the purpose of the session and felt more prepared to take part. Sharing that relief with us was a reminder of why these resources matter so much — they help parents feel calmer and more supported as they begin contact visits.
