At Holding Hands, we’re always looking for community spaces that make supervised changeovers easier for children and calmer for parents. 

Ikea Tempe is one of those special places. Its design and layout naturally support our child-focused approach, and that’s why we use it often for changeovers each week.

The underground carpark gives one parent a safe and easy place to arrive. The other parent have their own carpark just one level up. By starting from two different points, families don’t have to face each other at drop off or pick up. 

That separation takes away unnecessary stress and keeps the focus on the child.

We build in a few extra minutes between parents arriving and leaving. Ikea Tempe makes this simple. The different levels mean there’s no need for parents to cross paths, even if timings overlap. 

This small detail makes a big difference - it minimises conflict and helps children feel calm and secure.

And of course, Ikea is child-friendly!
