strong body, strong mind

Let’s be honest: if you’re running a household, raising kids, juggling work, and still remembering to feed the dog, you’re already doing Olympic-level training.
And no, self-care isn’t all bubble baths and cucumbers on your eyes (though they’re nice if you get a minute). It’s about keeping your body strong enough to power through the chaos and your mind sharp enough to laugh when you realise you’ve made your kid’s lunch and left it on the bench.

When your body is strong:
- You’ve got more patience. (And patience is a muscle, trust me.)
- You recover faster from stress.
- You stop getting that “my back’s gone” feeling every time you pick up a Lego.
When your mind is strong:
- You spot solutions faster than the kids can find trouble.
- You handle meltdown....yours or theirs, without matching them decibel for decibel.
- You feel in control, even if the laundry basket is plotting against you.

No gym? No excuse. Two minutes. Do it between emails or while the pasta boils.
- Chair Squats – 10 reps. Stand up, sit down, stand up again… pretend you’re avoiding another Zoom call.
- Counter Push-Ups – 10 reps. Hands on desk or bench, chest to hands, push away like you’re saying “Nope” to more after-school activities.
- Wall Sit – 30 seconds. Back flat, knees bent, stare ahead and think about your next holiday… or your next coffee.
- Shoulder Rolls – 10 forward, 10 back. Because carrying the world on your shoulders shouldn’t be a permanent position.
Do it once. Feel smug.
Do it twice if you want bragging rights.

Parenting and self-care aren’t separate boxes to tick.
When you’re stronger, calmer, and feeling good in your own skin, your kids get the best version of you.
And trust me, that’s better than any perfectly packed lunchbox.
So! Drop and give me ten!
And no, walking to the fridge doesn’t count.
